More Keynote Speakers to be Announced

Dr. Elina Hiltunen is a futurist, lecturer and trainer working at the moment on her second PhD thesis at the National Defence University on the use of science fiction in defence organisations’ foresight. She is listed among the 50 leading female futurists in the world (Forbes) and has given hundreds of lectures on the futures in Finland and abroad.

Dr. Philip Brey is professor of philosophy and ethics of technology at the University of Twente (The Netherlands). In his research, he investigates ethical aspects of emerging technologies, with a particular focus on information technology, robotics, biomedical technology and environmental technologies.

Dr. h.c. Jerome C. Glenn co-founded and directs The Millennium Project, a leading global participatory think tank with over 70 Nodes around the world. Glenn has published over 400 future-oriented articles, written several books and directed over 80 futures research projects. He is also assisting the UN Council of Presidents of the General Assembly on the UNGA’s role in governance of Artificial General Intelligence.

What are Futures Conferences?

Each year Finland Futures Research Centre (FFRC) and Finland Futures Academy (FFA) at the University of Turku organises its annual Futures Conference, an invaluable opportunity for meeting, exchanging and debating current topics related in futures studies and foresight. This year the event is organised in collaboration with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.
